Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, formerly known as the Arts Magnet High School, consists of students enrolled in the music program and a music faculty of ten full-time and six part-time professionals.
The school is part of the Dallas Independent School District s magnet school program and houses grades The school also offers major programs in dance, theatre arts and visual arts. With a complete range of academic courses provided, the majority of the students are full-time, however there is also a part-time option available. Music students are divided by major instruments into one of six areas which include: choral music, band, orchestral strings, piano, guitar and music synthesis.
